Daniel Herz, MD


Since 2016, Dr. Herz has been the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Urology for our UT Erlanger Urology group. As one of the only board-certified, fellowship trained pediatric urologist in Chattanooga, he has extensive training in open, robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat a variety of pediatric urologic conditions. With additional masters level training in health policy, Dr. Herz has worked tirelessly to create an efficient and safe pediatric urology practice at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger that focuses on achieving the best outcomes for our patients.

Research Interests & Publications

Dr. Herz has published extensively about hydronephrosis, pediatric UTIs, hypospadias, and vesicoureteral reflux in the Journal of Urology and Journal of Pediatric Urology. He also has written several papers describing advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques to treat these and other conditions. Dr. Herz is currently involved in research into the best way to manage post-operative pain in our pediatric urology patients. He has also been an invited speaker and expert panelist at several local and international meetings, including The Societies for Pediatric Urology and The Society for Fetal Urology.
